The Sinful Nature Shall Not Have Dominion Over You

In order for the "Christian" to grow, he/she must come to know some things. The Christian must understand the process by which God Justifies, Sanctifies, Glorifies is all done by way of evidencing faith in the Cross of Christ. It is not enough to just go to church week after week and "Amen" the Word but we must come to understand, apply, and walk in the Message of Calvary. If the verbal message in which you sit under each week isn't explaining to you how to live for God based upon faith in Calvary, then growth is impossible. Most of the bible contains written instructions on how to live for God. Not much is written on how to be Saved or Born again. We must be taught how to live for God otherwise we will live for Him based upon the vanity of our mindset.

A common misconception in today's church is that we as Christians think that once we give our lives to Christ we can now live by self efforts, human strength and ability.,religious activity....etc. Once we come to Christ for the removal of sin and guilt, we are Justified. God also uses this same process for changing and delivering us from self, sin, the world and Satan,which is called Sanctification. Grace is actually the divine enabling (to provide with the means or opportunity.2: to give legal power, capacity, or sanction to ) power of God the Holy Spirit in our lives, uninterrupted, to give us the power to overcome all resistance.

Romans 7
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing (speaks of man’s own ability, or rather the lack thereof in comparison to the Holy Spirit, at least when it comes to spiritual things): for to will is present with me (Paul is speaking here of his willpower; regrettably, most modern Christians are trying to live for God by means of willpower, thinking falsely that since they have come to Christ, they are now free to say “no” to sin; that is the wrong way to look at the situation; the Believer cannot live for God by the strength of willpower; while the will is definitely important, it alone is not enough; the Believer must exercise Faith in Christ and the Cross, and do so constantly; then he will have the ability and strength to say “yes” to Christ, which automatically says, “no” to the things of the world); but how to perform that which is good I find not (outside of the Cross, it is impossible to find a way to do good).
