The word "One" as used here in the above scripture means in the Greek, union, concord; or agreement. In order to walk in unity with each other there must be a unity between the Christian and the Godhead. Nicodemus was a religious leader of Israel during the time of Christ, who came unto Him by night to inquire of the born again experience. This leader had no insight into the Will and Way of God, Calvary, but yet was in a spiritual position appointed to him by men. Many of us fall into this category. Because we have been faithful to uphold the traditions of men, our church and religious activities, man has placed us in a position of authority without any knowledge of how to live for God based solely upon faith in the atonement made at Calvary. The traditions of man caused Nicodemus to become religious but yet lost. Traditions caused him to forfeit true spiritual insight into the mind of God and made God's Word ineffective in his life.

Religious But Lost pt. 2

Topic of discussion is "Nicodemus - Religious but Lost pt. 2" John 3.
In order for the "Christian" to grow, he/she must come to know some things. The Christian must understand the process by which God Justifies, Sanctifies, Glorifies is all done by way of evidencing faith in the Cross of Christ. It is not enough to just go to church week after week and "Amen" the Word but we must come to understand, apply, and walk in the Message of Calvary. If the verbal message in which you sit under each week isn't explaining to you how to live for God based upon faith in Calvary, then growth is impossible. Most of the bible contains written instructions on how to live for God. Not much is written on how to be Saved or Born again. We must be taught how to live for God otherwise we will live for Him based upon the vanity of our mindset.
